The Unknown

To me it seems like lots of us fear the unknown. Whether this means quitting a job that’s no longer really working, tying something new, traveling to a new exotic place far away from home and family, leaving what feels comfortable and known to go into something that’s uncertain. But for me, I sometimes can seem to be the opposite. I seem to

Relish in the Unpredictable.

Crave the Unknown.

This is a real struggle for me because I craft this unknown in my head that seems, sometimes, far better than what my present life is. Then it makes me sad that I’m having trouble being grateful for the things I’ve worked for and the life that’s currently mine and no one else’s. It’d be much easier if I preferred the known and predictable lifestyle. It’d be so much easier.

Then, of course I question: is this call to the unknown an actual calling or just my mind wanting to escape and blame my unhappiness on the current situation that I’ve chosen to put myself in? Is this a calling worth listening to or a distraction worth stifling?

Maybe I could use a therapist. But who even knows what advice to give people anymore? There’s too much advice these days. Too many “best ways” to live your life, eat, thrive, wake up, build a routine, make friends, make money, travel, get rich, be happier, love more, have thriving relationships; there's just too much. When really, want some of the best advice?

Stop Giving People Advice.

It's easy to see when people are making mistakes or going down the wrong path, but that’s probably what their plan is all about. They have to go down that road to learn the lessons that are supposed to make them the person they’re becoming, so who are we to suggest advice otherwise on how to live their life? From my perspective in building this online yoga business: Who am I to tell you should practice yoga? Or meditate more? Or eat better? Obviously, I’m going to support and encourage you, but if you’re really not feeling it,

Nobody knows your body better than you.

If that’s who you want to become, then you already know these things, you already know what you need to do to become that person. All I’m here to do is give you the wellness tools to implement in your life so that you can become that person if you so wish

Ultimately the choices are up to us on who we decide to be and if we decide to change or not. For me, change is exciting and I yearn for it, but change too much and suddenly my identity your identity can become too muddy.

It’s hard to find the diamond in the rough if you’re looking for an emerald.

Walking into the unknown can be scary, but when things are uncertain, anything is possible. Having a plan for the ‘rest of our lives’ can cause us to close doors on endeavors that could have otherwise led us to be who we needed to be, instead of who we wanted to be. It’s good to have a plan or an idea of where you’re going, but walk with moderation and learn not to fear the unknown, while also not getting lost in that fantasy of what could exist for you behind the veil - note to self.
