How to Align
The big word that keeps coming up in all my research of how to live your dream life and pursue what you love is ALIGNMENT. You can’t make strides in the right direction if you’re not even on the right path. You can’t fill in the colors if the lines don’t exist. You can’t help someone if you don’t know who you’re talking to. So, we need to align.
This is the first step in any major endeavor we embark on; before we can go anywhere, we must first ask ourselves: Is this journey aligned with my goals and aspirations that I wish to pursue in my life or not? If not, it’s easy to throw it out, but for some reason, it’s really hard to determine if it actually is is alignment. To foresee and choose a journey ahead of you is much more complex than picking whatever flavor of ice cream you’re going to order. We go can go through many iterations of trying to know what the outcome to the journey would be, but ultimately, it comes down to choosing the journey we are going to most enjoy along the way, without focusing so much on the destination. But to understand the first step that it takes to walk any journey, we must first understand the following:
WHAT IS ALIGNMENT?
Aligning your actions with your desires involves ensuring that your daily choices and behaviors are consistent with your overarching goals, aspirations, and values. It requires self-awareness to understand what you truly desire and the discipline to prioritize actions that move you closer to those desires. By consciously aligning our actions with our desires, we cultivate a more meaningful and rewarding life journey, where each step forward resonates with our innermost intentions and ambitions.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT I TRULY DESIRE?
To cultivate self-awareness and gain a deeper understanding of your true desires in life, it's essential to embark on a journey of introspection and self-discovery, like we’re doing here. Try setting aside time for reflection, whether through journaling, meditation, or quiet contemplation and pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, and reactions in different situations, as they often provide clues about your values, passions, and aspirations.
Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, and take note of what resonates most deeply with you. Additionally, be open to exploring new experiences and pushing beyond your comfort zone, as this can uncover hidden passions and desires. HOW TO FIND SUCCESS ONCE I KNOW MY DESIRES?
Set specific, measurable objectives that reflect your aspirations and create a plan to work towards them. Stay flexible and open-minded, adjusting your course as needed while remaining true to your core values and passions. Cultivate resilience to overcome obstacles and setbacks along the way, viewing them as opportunities for learning and growth. Surround yourself with a supportive network of individuals who encourage and inspire you to pursue your dreams. WHAT BRINGS ME OUT OF ALIGNMENT?
Several factors can potentially lead to a loss of alignment with your true desires. External pressures, such as societal expectations, cultural norms, or the influence of others, may sway you away from your authentic path. Similarly, fear of failure, self-doubt, or a lack of confidence can hinder your ability to stay true to your aspirations. Don’t believe in them. Stay strong and trust yourself.
Distractions, such as excessive busyness or indulgence in instant gratification, may divert your focus from your long-term goals. Ignoring your intuition or neglecting self-care can also disrupt your alignment. Additionally, unexpected life events or circumstances beyond your control may challenge your sense of direction. HOW DO I STAY IN ALIGNMENT?
Staying in alignment with your true desires after building the necessary self-awareness requires ongoing mindfulness and intentional action. This is why I have a whiteboard next to my bed that reminds me everyday of my focus for the week and the top ideas I’m working through.

Surround yourself with people who support your authenticity and inspire you to pursue your dreams.
